Announcing the Phil Robey Community Fund

Charles River Center, Needham

The establishment of the Phil Robey Community Fund was announced at the Building a Dream Gala on Friday, April 27th.  This fund, named in honor of longtime board member and supporter, Phil Robey, will allow individuals from the Charles River Center to participate in enriching community experiences such as art classes, music classes, therapeutic horseback riding, gym memberships, yoga classes, golf lessons, adaptive skiing, rowing, museum memberships, swimming lessons, and more.

Just as it is for anyone, it is important for individuals at the Charles River Center to be out in the community, learning new skills, staying active, enjoying new experiences, and broadening their horizons.  But many we support can’t afford it. They are on a fixed income and may have as little as $150 left at the end of the month.  This small amount must cover clothing, entertainment, toiletries, medical co-pays, travel and prescriptions.

With this new fund, Charles River Center participants in need will be able to apply for special funding to help them afford enriching community activities.

To donate to the Phil Robey Community Fund, please visit the donate page, select “General Contribution” from the dropdown menu, and put “Robey Fund” in the “Comments about this donation” box.

Thank you for helping the individuals we support participate in activities that will teach them new skills, keep them healthy, and bring them joy.

Phil Robey
